'We enjoyed an amazing circular 'dark sky' walk from Robin Hood's Bay with Alison and Fabian (and some great fellow walkers) which left us feeling elated and that we had experienced something special that we don't take the time to do. Well guided, with regular opportunities to check into ourselves internally as well as with the night sky we ended up on the beach, with a cloud and moon free sky that revealed the constellations in all their glory. Unusual to hear the sea and barely be able to see it. A wonderful experience that is to be recommended!'

'Had the most incredible dark skies experience with Alison & Fabian last night at White Horse Bank thank you. Alison taught us how to walk in the dark, mindfully, silent and inviting all of our senses in; hearing, sight, smell and touch! It was the most relaxing and enlightening experience to be in nature in the dark, walking under the most amazing night sky. We were so lucky as the stars were so clear and Fabian shared his knowledge of the stars which was fascinating. Would highly recommend this experience, a very unique way to connect with yourself and the beautiful world we live in!'

'Another lovely refreshing and relaxing evening with Alison. She provides a warm and inviting space to experience the magic of the stars and a moonlight walk, on a crisp winter's evening in beautiful surroundings. We finished up around a campfire toasting marshmallows. It's certainly an evening I will remember' - Alison a Women-only Dark Skies Experience

'What a great way to take some time out to focus on your wellbeing and explore nature in a safe setting. Alison was very welcoming and knowledgeable. I really enjoyed the moonlight walk, mindful moments, stargazing and hot chocolate by the camp fire!' - Eleonor a Women-only Dark Skies Experience

'Brilliant leaders, fabulous event - flawless from ticket purchases through to event end. A happy balance of difference and wonderful time out. Everyone should make time to take their soul on such adventures and if you don't know where to start I recommend starting here'

'I usually try to get everything done before it gets dark so that I can tuck myself up indoors and hibernate until morning but this walk completely changed my thinking. Twilight and nightfall are beautiful times to be out. The light, the sounds, the textures are all different and you use different senses to the ones you use during the day. I can highly recommend these adventures. You come away feeling totally different'.

'We all felt very welcome and Adrian enjoyed having other people to talk to. The food was delicious and the walk was just right to get us tuned in for the star gazing. You have such a lovely calming voice and made the experience very positive for all of us. Linda and Ian were lovely hosts and we felt very at home'.

'I took part in the Yoga & Dark Skies Walk event ran by Adventures for the Soul and it was truly soul-healing. I attended with 3 of my friends but many were on their own and I would quite happily have gone on my own. The yoga mixed with a dark skies walk was just the perfect blend. All of us came away feeling like we have truly had a rejuvenating, peaceful break from busy life. I will certainly be looking to book onto something again in the future. Thank you Alison x'.

“My second Dark skies event this year, the photos do not do the experience justice!! Let me just talk you through it...I had too much to do and not enough hours in the day to do it. So do you know what i did? I closed the front door, jumped in my car and joined Adventures for the Soul at the top of Sutton Bank just before Sunset.

The views from the top and the clear air 🙏  Walking down through woodland 🍂  The lake at the bottom so still it mirrored the stars 🌟 The sounds of all the birds and other wildlife 🦆 Head torch on now its dark 💡 Walking meditation 🤐 The mud, omg the mud it tried to eat my boots! Then finally, the view of the dark night sky and the milky way from the moors top 😍

My drive in was a bit Arrrgghhhh. My drive back home Ahhhhhhhh.

If you need time for you, to re-set, refocus, and to just breath and feel the earth beneath your feet please check out future walks by these fabulous people and their services”

Some of the comments from yoga and contemplative walking experiences since 2009.....

'Far exceeded expectations….150/100! Couldn't have done more. Good sense of humour. Ensured everyone was included in the group. Catered for everyone…. Should be provided by NHS!'

'It's 6 months since I laughed so much and that was very healing'

'I loved everything! The pace, the space, your style, permission to be me, your humour, your laugh, the fun. Loved it all'.

'I enjoyed the time, space and encouragement to slow down and 'check in with yourself'. I particularly appreciated the emphasis on breath work'.

'Went far beyond expectations…..Alison was a very skilled and personable leader. Yoga was at exactly the right level for me, as were the walking miles. The meditation and contemplation was a new and mind-opening experience. Will take a lot away from this holiday'.

'Alison was very clear in her instructions so everyone could benefit from the yoga sessions. She conducted the walks in such a way that everyone could keep pace and enjoy themselves. The overall tone was accepting and inclusive and I would love to join Alison again for a similar holiday'.

'I enjoyed the quiet contemplative times and the giggles.......Alison worked very hard to cater for everyone's needs and did an excellent job. Admired her dedication, discipline and sense of fun! Felt safe and able to trust her judgements in yoga, meditation and the outdoors'.

'I have thoroughly enjoyed this break. It has been a great balance of walking and yoga, excellently led by Alison......I cannot speak too highly of Alison. She has been an excellent guide; caring for everyone in a warm, considerate and respectful way. A very lovely person with a wicked, mischievous sense of humour...I will be back for more of the same'.

'Alison is very good at giving permission to work at your own level. The choice of walks was great. Some parts stretched you, other parts were calming. The pace reflected what people needed'.

'I liked everything - the positive and calm atmosphere created by you. The silence. The varied and beautiful walks. The yoga and other exercises you introduced were perfect. The fact that you responded to people's needs. The meditation was better than any other. You being open to everyone and everything…. More please!'

'This was just what I needed after a very stressful few weeks…..It provided the perfect antidote to my busy life and enabled me to slow down sufficiently to have contact with my body and switch off the chattering in my mind. Thank you for your presence, humour and 'groundedness' - you're a wonder!'

'I liked the flexibility. No one was disturbed or offended if people didn't want to join in things! Alison's efficient and caring leadership was appreciated'.

'You led the group in a very calm, kind and sensitive way and you were very responsive to individual needs. This really has been a lovely few days! Thank you'.

'I wanted time for me - reflection - escape from the world. I feel much calmer and I have come to accept reasons I feel how I do. I feel more accepting of myself - not so critical, self demanding'.

'This is my 3rd visit. Alison is to be applauded for her ability to assess each group members individual needs!'
