Twilight to Dark Night - for women - Dalby Forest

Twilight to Dark Night - wellbeing for women - Dalby Forest

Dalby Forest, North York Moors National Park, England

What you'll do

This is a wonderful opportunity to switch off, slow down and take time out for you. Allow yourself to let go of that ‘to do’ list and reconnect with yourself again. Sample something completely different with other like-minded women.

The location couldn't be more perfect. Set in the middle of Dalby Forest, High Dalby House is a retreat from the world. Set in 6 acres of beautiful woodlands, it's been confirmed it's the darkest place in North York Moors. Since this event is just before the new moon, there's more opportunity to see more stars if it's clear.

To nourish ourselves before we move into activity, there'll be warming drinks and delicious hot food all prepared by our wonderful hosts, Ian and Linda. It's a chance to meet other participants too.

With a full belly and a gentle start to the evening, you'll reconnect with yourself through a mindful meander that'll leave your senses zinging. Moving slowly, you'll experience the night in a completely different way. Feel the cold, crisp air as you breathe. Hear wonderful owls hooting and crunching leaves underfoot. Let the smell of nature awaken your awareness of this precious moment.

Afterwards, you'll cast your eyes to the celestial heavens above while I show you a different way to stargaze. A meditation on the night sky that'll leave you feeling awe-inspired.

You’ll end the evening sat next to a warming fire drinking hot chocolate and connecting with like-minded others. I'll introduce a few other gentle activities that'll be completely soothing and regenerative too.

The result? You'll leave feeling rejuvenated, calmer and ready to face a new day.

Walk information

The event is open to all, but please note, this is NOT an easy access walk, although they are easier than Adventures for the Soul's usual dark sky events. The walk length is around 1/2 mile on well defined paths, some gradients, steps and rough ground. We'll also be walking in the dark as well (with a torch!).
